Your Complete Movie Calendar — The 20 Biggest Blockbusters Dropping From May to December 2026

Okay let us be completely honest with each other for a second.

2026 is not a normal year for movies. It is a once-in-a-generation year. The kind of year where you look at the release calendar in January and your jaw drops because you cannot believe how many massive films are lined up back to back.

Christopher Nolan. Star Wars. Spider-Man. Avengers. Dune. Narnia. Hunger Games. Toy Story. Jumanji. Practical Magic. Every major franchise seems to have chosen this exact year to come back — and they all look incredible.

We pulled together the 20 biggest blockbusters hitting cinemas from May all the way through to December 2026 so you can plan, get excited, and never miss a single one. This is your complete movie guide for the rest of the year.

1. The Mandalorian & Grogu — May 22, 2026

Star Wars is back on the big screen for the first time in seven years and the entire galaxy is watching.

Din Djarin and his beloved adopted son Grogu leave the small screen behind and step into a full theatrical adventure. Jon Favreau directs. Pedro Pascal returns. Jeremy Allen White voices a buff Hutt. Sigourney Weaver plays a former Rebel pilot. This is the Star Wars film that fans have been desperate for — one that feels personal, emotional, and genuinely exciting rather than obligatory.

Easily one of the most anticipated action movies of the entire summer.

2. Devil Wears Prada 2 — May 1, 2026

Twenty years later and Miranda Priestly is back — and still terrifying.

Meryl Streep returns as the iconic fashion editor alongside Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs. The original director David Frankel and writer Aline Brosh McKenna both came back to make this sequel, which picks up with both women navigating a drastically changed media and fashion landscape. This one has massive audience goodwill behind it and is expected to be one of the biggest films of May.

3. Mortal Kombat II — May 2026

The first Mortal Kombat reboot did well enough to earn a sequel — and this one is turning the volume up significantly.

The biggest addition is Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, the fan-favourite character who was frustratingly absent from the first film. His casting alone drove huge buzz online. Earthrealm’s champions must now face the dark rule of Shao Kahn in what promises to be the most brutal tournament yet. Director Simon McQuoid returns with a cast ready to deliver the most stylised, hard-hitting fight sequences of the year.

If you love action movies that do not hold back, this is the one.

4. Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure — June 12, 2026

This one came out of nowhere and immediately shot to the top of everyone’s must-watch list.

Spielberg’s next film is a sci-fi mystery starring Emily Blunt and Josh O’Connor. The script comes from David Koepp — one of Hollywood’s most respected thriller writers — and almost nothing about the plot has been revealed publicly. What we know is that the title is Disclosure, the trailer was described as stunning, and the film arrives June 12. When Spielberg makes a sci-fi film, you show up. Full stop.

For all the latest sci-fi movie updates, Fzmovie has you covered.

5. Toy Story 5 — June 19, 2026

Nobody really expected Pixar to revisit Toy Story after the devastating emotional perfection of Toy Story 4. But here we are — and the early signs suggest this one has a brilliant concept behind it.

Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the gang must now deal with a terrifying new threat — Bonnie’s tablet. Electronics are replacing toys and the gang’s entire existence is being challenged. Tom Hanks and Keanu Reeves lead the voice cast. Andrew Stanton co-directs. This has the potential to be the tearjerker of the entire year for family movies.

6. Jackass: Best and Last — June 26, 2026

Johnny Knoxville is back one final time — and based on the title, this really is goodbye.

The legendary stunt franchise returns for what is being billed as its last theatrical outing. No plot details, no spoilers, just the promise of the most dangerous, ridiculous, and somehow loveable chaos the crew has ever put together for one final bow. The comedy event of the summer.

7. Minions & Monsters — July 1, 2026

The minions are back and this time they are in the monster movie business.

Originally scheduled for 2027 before being pushed forward, Minions & Monsters follows the iconic yellow creatures as they attempt to cast actual monsters for their new film project. Director Pierre Coffin returns alongside Steve Carell as Gru. The first trailer is already a chaotic, hilarious ride that promises exactly what Minions fans want — pure, unapologetic fun. Perfect for family movies night.

8. Spider-Man: Brand New Day — July 2026

Five years. That is how long Marvel has made fans wait for Tom Holland’s next Spider-Man film — and the anticipation is at an all-time high.

Peter Parker is now in college, trying desperately to move on from his superhero life. But new villains, new dangers, and what appears to be some very significant Easter eggs in the trailer are pulling him right back in. This is the film that kicks off Marvel’s big 2026 summer push — setting the stage for everything that follows later in the year.

9. Supergirl — July 2026

DC’s new universe continues expanding with its first major female-led film since Wonder Woman.

Kara Zor-El steps into the spotlight in a story that follows her joining forces with unexpected allies when a ruthless adversary strikes too close to home. After Superman’s warmly received comeback last year, the bar is set high — and early reactions suggest Supergirl meets it. Another strong entry in the action movies category for summer 2026.

10. The Odyssey — July 17, 2026

The most anticipated film of the entire year. No debate.

Christopher Nolan’s $250 million adaptation of Homer’s legendary Greek epic stars Matt Damon as Odysseus, with Tom Holland, Zendaya, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Robert Pattinson and more filling out the most staggering cast assembled since Oppenheimer. The first trailer accumulated 121 million views in 24 hours. It is shot entirely on brand new IMAX cameras. It is the first film to do that in cinema history.

You already know about this one — we covered it in full detail right here on Fzmovie. This is the one that will define 2026.

11. Masters of the Universe — Summer 2026

He-Man gets the full blockbuster treatment and the cast is genuinely wild.

Nicholas Galitzine plays Prince Adam / He-Man. Jared Leto is Skeletor. Idris Elba plays Man-at-Arms. Alison Brie is Evil-Lyn. Kristen Wiig voices the robot Roboto. This is either going to be the most fun adventure movie of the summer or an absolute disaster. Either way, people are going to watch.

12. The End of Oak Street — August 14, 2026

Produced by J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot, this mysterious sci-fi thriller has been one of the most talked-about films nobody knows anything about.

Set in an idyllic suburban street that somehow gets transported into a world where dinosaurs still roam, the film has strong Cloverfield energy and could be the stealth hit of the entire summer season. Sometimes the films with the least hype deliver the biggest surprises.

13. Practical Magic 2 — September 11, 2026

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are back as sisters Sally and Gillian Owens — and the witchcraft is back with them.

It has been almost thirty years since the original Practical Magic built its devoted cult following, and director Susanne Bier brings the magic back with a new generation joining the cast. Joey King plays one of Sally’s daughters. Maisie Williams, Lee Pace and Xolo Maridueña round out the new additions. This is the September blockbuster that fans of the original have been hoping for since 1998.

14. Resident Evil — Fall 2026

Zach Cregger — the director behind Barbarian, one of the most praised horror films of recent years — takes on the legendary video game franchise.

Austin Abrams plays Bryan, a medical courier who finds himself trapped in a nonstop race for survival as one catastrophic night collapses around him. Cregger’s track record with slow-burn terror is exceptional and his first look footage at CinemaCon already has horror movie fans extremely excited.

15. Digger — October 2, 2026

Tom Cruise in a comedy described as “a comedy of catastrophic proportions” — directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu, the filmmaker behind Birdman and The Revenant.

This is one of the strangest and most unexpected pairings in Hollywood history. Iñárritu’s films are typically intense, awards-driven dramas. Cruise has been flying jets and scaling buildings for twenty years. Somehow Warner Bros. brought them together for something that sounds genuinely unpredictable. October 2 cannot come soon enough.

16. Avatar: The Last Airbender — October 9, 2026

The beloved animated universe expands with its first major theatrical animated film.

Toph, Sokka, Katara and Zuko all return to the world fans have loved for two decades. Dave Bautista joins the cast alongside Eric Nam as the adult Aang. For a generation that grew up watching the original series, this is a deeply nostalgic and genuinely exciting animation event.

17. Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping — November 2026

The Hunger Games universe is back — and this time it is Haymitch Abernathy’s story.

Set during the brutal Quarter Quell that required double the tributes from each district, the film follows a young Haymitch — played by Joseph Zada — through his own Games. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson briefly return. The supporting cast includes Elle Fanning, Glenn Close, Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons and Maya Hawke. The franchise that defined a generation is back with a story that promises to be just as emotionally devastating as the originals.

18. Narnia — November 26, 2026

Greta Gerwig — fresh off making Barbie a global cultural event — now takes on C.S. Lewis’s The Chronicles of Narnia.

Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan and Emma Mackey star in what Netflix is positioning as its biggest theatrical release in years. Gerwig’s ability to blend emotional depth with mass entertainment appeal makes her the perfect director for Narnia — a story that is magical on the surface but searingly emotional underneath. One of the most anticipated fantasy movies of the entire decade.

19. Jumanji: Open World — December 11, 2026

Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan are back together for what is reportedly the final chapter of the rebooted Jumanji franchise.

Director Jake Kasdan returns. The gang returns. And according to Kevin Hart, this is the one that closes everything out for good. If the previous two films are anything to go by, this will be a hilarious, action-packed adventure movie that delivers exactly what fans want from this series.

20. Avengers: Doomsday — December 2026

We saved the biggest for last.

Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. The Russo Brothers back in the director’s chair. A cast so large it barely fits on one poster — Thor, Spider-Man, Captain America, Black Panther, Ant-Man, Mr. Fantastic, Scarlet Witch and dozens more all converging for the MCU event of the decade.

This is the film the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe has been building toward. After years of mixed reception during Phase 4 and 5, Marvel appears to be going all-in on Doomsday as their definitive comeback moment. Everything else this year leads to this. The moment that trailer drops publicly, the internet will shut down.

Stay locked into Fzmovie’s upcoming movies page for every update, trailer drop and streaming announcement across all 20 of these films as they land.
