The plot centers on the city of Xiqi as it faces a massive siege by the Shang dynasty army, led by the formidable Taishi Wen Zhong. The Shang forces include the skilled warrior Deng Chanyu and the Four Generals of the Mo Family. To defend their homeland, Ji Fa, the king of Xiqi, and Jiang Ziya, a Kunlun immortal, rally the people and other Kunlun immortals to fight against the overwhelming dark forces. The film depicts a blend of intense battle sequences and rich mythology as the war for the Investiture of the Gods scroll escalates.
