In a reimagining of the classic 1980s epic, the year is 1615. The Tokugawa Shogunate has solidified its grip on Japan, but the Shogun’s obsession with securing his lineage has turned the elite Yagyu Samurai into state-sponsored kidnappers. 21. Máté Horvát
    March 17, 2026 at 1:10 AM

I was thoroughly impressed by the visuals in Shogun’s Ninja! The action sequences were breathtaking, especially the ones set in the ninja village.

    1. Sophie Lavoie
      March 17, 2026 at 5:17 AM

  22. Jean-Pierre Mbeki
    March 17, 2026 at 3:54 AM

What’s with the historical inaccuracies? I was really looking forward to a more authentic portrayal of feudal Japan.

    1. Lurdes Massango
      March 16, 2026 at 7:14 PM

@Jean-Pierre Mbeki unfortunately, it’s not the first film to sacrifice accuracy for entertainment value. Still enjoyed it, though!

  23. Khaled Amrani
    March 17, 2026 at 12:13 PM

I found the story to be a bit predictable, but the performances stole the show for me. The lead actor’s portrayal of the Shogun was chilling.

    1. Nkechi Onyekachi
      March 16, 2026 at 7:15 PM

@Khaled Amrani I sort of had the same issue, but I think it’s because the film was trying to balance action and drama. Still a great watch!

  24. Biruk Alemu
    March 17, 2026 at 3:17 PM

Has anyone else noticed the echoes of The Hidden Fortress in Shogun’s Ninja? The score was reminiscent of that classic film.

    1. Aminata Touré
      March 17, 2026 at 6:38 AM

@Biruk Alemu yes, I caught those influences too! The composer did a great job of paying homage without overpowering the story.

  25. Kwabena Frimpong
    March 26, 2026 at 6:23 AM

I must say, I was a bit disappointed with the movie’s portrayal of Japanese culture. I think they could have done a better job with accuracy and sensitivity.

    1. Nur Syafiqah
      March 26, 2026 at 5:01 PM

@KwabenaFrimpong I understand where you’re coming from, but I think they did a great job of adapting the story to a modern audience while still being respectful of Japanese culture. What did you think of the score?

      1. Agus Prasetyo
        March 26, 2026 at 5:51 PM

@NurSyafiqah Thank you for your kind words! I’m glad you enjoyed the movie. As for the score, I loved it too! It really added to the tension and drama of the film.

  27. Damion Campbell
    March 26, 2026 at 8:25 AM

    1. Sophie Lavoie
      March 26, 2026 at 10:32 AM

@DamionCampbell I completely agree! Agus Prasetyo was fantastic and the cinematography was stunning. What did you think of the supporting cast?

      1. Alejandro García
        March 26, 2026 at 9:11 AM

@SophieLavoie I think they did a great job with the supporting cast, especially Manuel Machava as the Shogun’s advisor. He added so much to the story.

  28. Baraka Msomi
    March 26, 2026 at 11:57 PM

I’ve seen better historical dramas. The pacing was slow and the plot was predictable. Definitely wouldn’t recommend it.
